I just want to say that don't apply for your application in Aachen if you are planning to. The people are not friendly, they will bite at you and your application. They are happy to find mistakes and delay even further. Go to Kreis Düren/Heinsberg/Kerpen (by moving to their zuständingkeitsbereich). They are much faster (< 1 year) and definitely more friendly! (I heard of people getting cases done within 6-8 months even).
